Concentration: Applied Computing
Overview: The goal of this program is to train the next generation of computing professionals who want to combine computing skills in conjunction with business and information technology. This program is tailored towards students interested in becoming a programmer or learning about programming but do not have a background in computing. This program is also suitable for working professionals that have some kind of scientific training and want to improve their computational skills. (An undergraduate degree in Computer Science is not a requirement to apply to the program.)
Employment Opportunities: The computing and programming employment opportunities are numerous and are expected to increase in the coming years. Students who graduate are qualified to work in the financial industry, engineering industry, IT industry and science industries.
All students in the Master of Business and Science degree take 8 courses in their science concentration and 6 courses in business+. The business courses are listed here.Click here to see the Business Course Requirements. 
The Applied Computing science courses consists of four required courses and four electives. Students without a sufficient computer science background will be required to take the following courses as part of their program (it will count towards the electives):

A bachelors degree in any basic science or engineering field, with a GPA of at least 3.0 (a B average). Original transcripts are required.
The following background in basic mathematics is required:
An academic and professional resume and a personal statement (at most one page long) about the candidate's motivation for seeking an MBS degree in Applied Computing. For applicants whose native language is not English, satisfactory performance on the TOEFL. Optionally, other supporting information, such as work or academic experience and special skills.
